Boom! Congratulations to the Explosion Select who finished a strong 3rd place in the 18u Division of the Under Armour National Showcase in Bowling Green, Kentucky on 9/24/16-9/25/16! After a thrilling win over the Kane County Xplosion out of Chicago, IL, the Select fell 4-0 to the Music City Premier, the eventual tournament champion. Great pitching performances were turned in by Mariah Foxworth, Maggie Savage, Hailey Byington, Ariel Holt and Emma Seagrave with excellent catching performances by Arielle Tritt and Alex Kouvarakis. The tournament hot bats were led by Kelsey Birchfield (.533 Avg) and Taylor Campbell (.400 avg and 8 RBIs). Outstanding defensive performances were turned in by Hailey Byington, Krystin Cantrell, Jerica Ensley, Kelci Cantrell and a game saving double play by Sydney Birchfield. Great job Select, we are very proud of your efforts on the big stage! Prayers sent to Bug Campbell who sustained a near miss ankle break in a quarter final win over the Kane County Xplosion.
