Attention all 2011, 2012 and 2013 Player Parents, The Knoxville Explosion is forming the 8u Knoxville Explosion. This team will consist of 12-13 players and will be coached by former Lady Vol Angela Johnson. Coach Johnson graduated from the University of Tennessee in 2004 who started her playing career at UT-Chattanooga under Karen and Ralph Weekly in 2000 and 2001. She was 2001 Southern Conference Player of the Year and Freshman of the year. She set UTC single season records of 14 homers and 55 runs batted in, finishing first-team NFCA All-South Region honors and received All-SEC honors in 2004. This is truly an exceptional opportunity to join our organization and play for Coach Johnson with her numerous years of playing experience. Our model is simple, select players based off of coachability, talent and desire with supportive parents, allow this team to be guided on and off the field by an excellent mentor coach who has passed a rigorous, background check and is a certified Positive Coaching Alliance Coach and keep this team together through high school. Our organization enjoys an extremely low turn over rate (less than 10%), has an exceptional history of player development that has resulted in 27 college signees at 17 different colleges, 13 World Series and National Championships, as well as 24 Tennessee State Titles.
