The Knoxville Explosion Fastpitch Softball Club is currently comprised of 6 teams (Explosion Select, Explosion Premier - Wolfgram, 16u, '10, '11 - Banks, and '11 - Cooper) that have a total of 100 very special players.  Players are not only selected based upon skill but also character and desire.  Our organization is committed to improving the skills of these special players to not only develop them into the best fastpitch softball players that they can be, but also the best students, friends and reliable, honorable young ladies. Our goal is simple, develop the player to make a meaningful contribution to their schools, communities and future endeavors at the earliest possible opportunity.  We only utilize non-paid, volunteer coaches whose interest is only improving our players, not profiting from their desire to play.  We offer a highly competitive field of tournament play while minimizing the team fees to make it affordable to play quality travel softball.  If you are interested in joining our organization, we invite you to observe our practices and games to see what we teach and how we interact with the players. Tryouts are held in early August each year for the respective teams. The Knoxville Explosion Fastpitch Softball Organization is committed to developing player excellence on and off the field.  This is accomplished by selecting coaches who volunteer 100% of their time to teach the players the proper fundamentals of the game that include hitting, pitching, fielding and base running.  Each coach has passed a rigorous National Center for Safety Initiatives (NCSI) background investigation and are a certified Double Goal Coach through the Nationally-recognized Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA) Organization.  Our organization has developed a written program and player fundamentals development road map that ensure the fundamentals of the game are properly taught.  Key concepts are reinforced using state of the art training equipment, computer software and trained coaches that seek to identify and raise awareness of the player to correct flaws in their own fundamentals.  In addition, our players will be taught the proper way to conduct themselves on and off the field.  This will be demonstrated by our coaching staffs.  Knoxville Explosion Players are expected to honor and respect their coaches, parents, teammates, opponents and umpires.  Our players are also expected to achieve academic excellence in school courses and to place emphasis on their studies.  We recognize that our players are also students and without achieving the proper grades, our players will not be allowed to compete at the next level.  Our coaches are committed to teaching our players the rules of the game and more importantly, how to succeed and have fun!  A key component of this commitment is to teach our players the strategy and mental aspects of the game.  It is through this commitment to the fundamentals that our coaches and players will honor the game of fastpitch softball.

Atomic Boom! Congratulations to the Explosion Premier - Wolfgram Team as they were crowned the 14u Big Orange Invitational Champions on 7/16/23! The Explosion Premier went 5-0-1 in the tournament and beat the '08 Concord Stars 2-0 in the Championship Game. Absolutely outstanding work ladies! Congratulations to both the Stars and Explosion Premier, we are extremely proud of you and your efforts!

Boom! Congratulations to the 2011 Explosion-Cooper for winning the 12u Gold Division of the Top Gun Summer Fire Cracker Tournament, going 3-0-1! The Explosion beat the Carolina Hustle Finley 5-3 in the tournament championship game. Great job Hustle and Explosion, we are very proud of your efforts!

Boom! Congratulations to the 2014 Explosion who finished as the 8u Runner-up in the Big Bang Tournament held on 7/1/23! For the tournament, the Explosion went 4-1 enroute to the runner-up placing. Great job 2014 Explosion, we are very proud of your efforts!

Boom! Congratulations to the 2010 Explosion who played up in the 14u division of a tournament held in Hixson, Tn on 7/1/23 and won the Silver Division before the rain ended the tournament. The 2010 Explosion was the only undefeated team in the division. Great job 2010 Explosion, we are very proud of you!

Boom! Congratulations to the 2014 Explosion who won the 8u division of their tournament held on 6/24/23! Great job ladies, we are very proud of your efforts!

Boom! Congratulations to the 2011 Explosion Banks who finished as a strong 12u runner-up in the USA Wounded Warrior tournament held at Pigeon Forge, TN from 6/23/23-6/25/23! The 2011 Explosion Banks finished second due to the tournament being cancelled and allowing more runs in the winners bracket. We are very proud of you and your efforts ladies!
